Seoul Cyber University board chair receives Order of Dostyk, 2nd degree
In Seoul, South Korea, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented the Order of Dostyk, 2nd degree, to Lee Sang-kyun, chair of the board of Seoul Cyber University. The award was granted for his contribution to developing educational exchanges and strengthening bilateral ties between Kazakhstan and South Korea, The Korea Herald reports.
Award for cooperation
The Order of Dostyk, 2nd degree, is one of Kazakhstan's highest state awards. It is awarded to citizens of Kazakhstan and foreign nationals for contributions to peace, friendship among peoples, international cooperation and social harmony.
Tokayev personally presented the award to Lee Sang-kyun during his state visit to Korea. The recognition acknowledged the board chair's role in expanding exchanges between Korean and Kazakh educational institutions and strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

Online education and exchanges
Lee Sang-kyun worked to develop cooperation between universities in South Korea and Kazakhstan, including through exchanges in advanced online education. Seoul Cyber University stated that this work contributed to training future specialists and deepening mutual understanding among students and teachers in both countries.
Lee also chairs the board of the Shinil Educational Foundation, which operates Seoul Cyber University as well as Shinil middle and high schools. Seoul Cyber University was founded in 2000. The institution was accredited by the then Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development under the Lifelong Education Act as a four-year university authorized to award bachelor's degrees.
