"I am opening the Strait of Hormuz for good" — Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump announced a strategic decision to “open permanently” the Strait of Hormuz, a key artery for global oil exports.
The American leader announced this on his social media platform Truth Social, emphasizing that this step will benefit not only the United States, but also China and the entire international community.
According to the White House chief, this decision was made possible thanks to successful diplomacy and agreements with the Chinese leadership.
In particular, Beijing officially agreed to halt arms shipments to Iran, which helped reduce tensions in the region and ensure the safety of shipping.
“China is very pleased that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing this for them as well—and for the whole world. This situation will never happen again,” the U.S. president emphasized.
He assured that Washington would no longer allow this vital logistics hub to be blocked.
Donald Trump also announced his upcoming visit to China, which is scheduled to take place in a few weeks.
He expects a warm welcome from Chinese leader Xi Jinping, highlighting the effectiveness of the current cooperation between the two superpowers on energy and security issues.
“President Xi will give me a firm and friendly hug when I arrive there in a few weeks. We are working together wisely and very effectively! Isn’t that better than fighting???,” the American leader wrote.
At the same time, he reminded readers of the U.S.’s military might, noting that the country is prepared for a military scenario if the need arises.
