Fico announced intergovernmental consultations between Ukraine and Slovakia next month

Intergovernmental consultations between Ukraine and Slovakia may take place by the end of June in Kyiv or Bratislava to discuss infrastructure projects. 

This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Yerevan, according to the TASR news agency.

Fico noted the Ukrainian president’s flexibility regarding the venue for the consultations, so the Slovak side will try to organize a meeting in Bratislava. The agenda will include issues of road connectivity and the expansion of border crossings, as rail, air, and road connections will be very beneficial for the market once the war ends. 

At the same time, the Slovak prime minister emphasized that Bratislava does not plan to provide Ukraine with military aid to defend against Russia. The list of topics for discussion will include: rail transport, air transport, road transport, expansion of border crossings, and development of road infrastructure.
