Public and private investment

A roadmap for public and private investment is provided for each technology or product. It covers the current situation and challenges, implementation paths, targets, necessary measures, and required budgets.

Separately, the strategy identifies eight cross-cutting areas, including the development of technological capabilities and human resources. Columnist Kazuto Suzuki notes that electoral cycles complicate long-term economic planning in democracies. In his view, to achieve its main goal, the strategy must be maintained across several administrations.
