Incheon Innovation Cluster expands network to 11 hubs — Korea Herald
In South Korea, the Incheon Innovation Cluster has expanded its international network to 11 hubs by signing agreements with institutions in Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Tanzania and Kazakhstan. The new partnerships are intended to help identify local environmental and technological needs and match them with the capabilities of companies within the cluster, Korea Herald reports.
Agreements with four countries
The cluster, led by Incheon National University professor Lee Hee-kwan, signed memorandums of understanding with Capital University in Egypt, the Climate Finance Center in Kyrgyzstan, the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology, and Kazakhstan's Satbayev University.
Three agreements were concluded on September 3 during the 2026 Incheon International Environmental Technology Conference at Songdo Convensia. Satbayev University signed the memorandum on September 14.

Research and commercialization
The Cairo hub will work on joint research and personnel exchanges in environmental and engineering fields. The Bishkek office will identify needs for climate and environmental technologies and develop demonstration projects together with government institutions and development partners.
The hub in Dar es Salaam will use the research and innovation network of the national COSTECH agency to identify environmental technology needs and support Korean companies' entry into African markets. Satbayev University in Almaty will facilitate technology partner matching, joint research, technology transfer and commercialization projects.
Lee Hee-kwan said that each hub would operate as an operational center connecting local technology needs with the capabilities of cluster companies. According to him, needs identified through the network will be turned into joint demonstration and commercialization projects.
