Iran has agreed to allow IAEA inspectors access to its nuclear facilities
Iran has agreed to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to return to the country to inspect its nuclear program.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance made the announcement during a press conference in Switzerland.
According to him, Tehran’s decision is “the first step toward the permanent termination of Iran’s nuclear weapons program.”
The IAEA has not yet officially commented on the U.S. official’s statement.
Participants in the four-party talks in Switzerland agreed on a roadmap intended to lead the United States and Iran to a final agreement within 60 days.
Talks between the U.S. and Iran on the nuclear program and the security situation in the Middle East have begun in Switzerland. The U.S. side has already announced the first positive results of the meeting.
