Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the directives he and the defense minister have issued to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remain unchanged. According to him, troops in southern Lebanon have complete freedom of action to eliminate any direct threat to both the soldiers themselves and the safety of residents in northern Israel, and the army faces no restrictions in this regard.
The head of government emphasized that Israel will maintain a security buffer zone in southern Lebanon for as long as necessary to reliably protect its citizens and restore stability to the northern regions of the country.
This statement came amid diplomatic talks currently taking place in Switzerland between representatives from Washington and Tehran. During these meetings, the parties are discussing, among other things, the course of the war with the “Hezbollah” group and Israel’s current military operation on Lebanese territory.
