In Iran, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Tehran would regard South Korea’s military participation or presence in operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz as support for American “aggression.” According to the spokesperson, this would have serious consequences.

Statement by Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson

The Iranian side described the actions of the United States as “aggression.” This wording is an assessment stated in the Iranian spokesperson’s statement. It concerned the possible participation or presence of South Korean military personnel in operations in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
