Israel orders demolition of five Palestinian homes north of Jerusalem
Israeli authorities have ordered the demolition of five Palestinian homes north of occupied Jerusalem. The owner of one home was given 24 hours to leave, while residents of four others were given two days, Anadolu Agency reports, citing the Jerusalem Governorate.
Evacuation deadlines
One of the homes is located near the Jaba military checkpoint. According to the governorate, four other homes are located in the Coptic quarter of Al-Ram.
The owner of the home near the checkpoint must leave the residence within 24 hours before its demolition. Residents of the four other homes were ordered to evacuate within two days.

The governorate also stated that in August, Israeli forces carried out 40 demolition and land-clearing operations in Jerusalem targeting Palestinian structures.
Restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa
In a separate statement, the governorate said that during the first six days of September, Israeli authorities issued approximately 15 orders barring Palestinians from visiting the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Following these decisions, the total number of recorded bans since the beginning of 2026 reached 800.
By the end of August, the governorate had documented 785 such orders, including 762 in the first half of the year. A total of 23 bans were recorded in July and August: 17 in July and six in August. According to the governorate, most restrictions fell in the period before and during Ramadan, while the September increase is linked to the approaching Jewish holiday season from mid-September to early October.
