The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that 31 people were killed and another 40 were injured in the country as a result of Israeli airstrikes on May 26.
According to the Lebanese ministry, women and children are among the dead and injured. Beirut accused Israel of carrying out a “series of mass killings” in several towns in the south of the country.
The highest number of casualties was recorded in the city of Burj al-Shamali, where 14 people were killed, including two children and three women. Another 16 people in the area were injured.
Also, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health:
five people were killed in Kaftariet Al-Raz;
four in Haboush;
six in Maarak;
two people in Salaa.
In most of the attacked settlements, the victims also include minors and women.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces stated that it is continuing operations against the Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military claims it is striking militants and infrastructure used to launch rockets into Israeli territory.
According to the Israeli command, the operations eliminated militants who had attacked Israeli forces and destroyed launchers and other military infrastructure.
