Israeli forces surround mosque in Biddu, Palestine — Anadolu Agency
Israeli forces entered the Palestinian town of Biddu in the occupied West Bank in Palestine and surrounded the Abdullah bin Jaber Mosque during Asr prayer. This was reported by the Jerusalem Governorate, cited by Anadolu Agency.
Raid after shooting
According to the governorate, the military surrounded worshippers praying at the mosque. It also reported that the raid took place after a shooting near the settlement of Neve Tzuf, also known as Halamish, northwest of Ramallah. According to the governorate, an Israeli settler was killed in the shooting.

Detention of suspect
In an earlier statement, the governorate named Qadri Samara, a former Palestinian prisoner from Biddu, as the suspected shooter. According to the governorate, Israeli forces detained the wounded Samara at the H Clinic medical facility in Ramallah after the military raided the hospital.
Anadolu Agency notes that violence has intensified in the West Bank since the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, amid Israeli army raids and settler attacks on Palestinians and their property.
