Canada has imposed sanctions on a company that supplies equipment to the Russian National Guard
Canada has imposed sanctions on the defense company Streit Group, which manufactures armored vehicles and other military equipment. According to Canadian authorities, the company contributes to the strengthening of Russia’s military-industrial complex.
Canada Imposes Sanctions on Streit Group
Canada is imposing sanctions against this company based on numerous pieces of evidence. The Streit Group supplies armored vehicles it manufactures to the Russian National Guard.
“The Russian National Guard is participating in Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Anand emphasized.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry noted that the announced sanctions will reduce Russia’s military capabilities in the war against Ukraine by disrupting and limiting the Streit Group’s ability to supply military technology and equipment to Russia.
“Canada remains steadfast in its commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and people of Ukraine, who continue to defend their country and their rights in the face of Russia’s brutal aggression,” the statement reads.
Ukraine’s Response
Andriy Sybiga, Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, thanked Canada for this decision.
“Every company that supplies technology, equipment, or components to the Russian military-industrial complex contributes to supporting its aggressive war against Ukraine and must be held accountable for this,” he said.
This was reported with reference to a statement by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand in H.
