Russian authorities have added Yuriy Dud to the list of terrorists and extremists

Russian journalist and video blogger Yuri Dud has been added to a list of individuals in Russia who are suspected of involvement in extremist activities or terrorism. The relevant changes have been made to the Rosfinmonitoring database.

The journalist has held “foreign agent” status in Russia for several years.

The Russian agency did not specify the reasons for adding Dud to the list. Previously, the journalist was added to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation’s registry of “foreign agents” in April 2022.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, Dud publicly spoke out against Russia’s war against Ukraine. In February 2022, he condemned the Russian authorities’ decisions regarding Ukraine.

The journalist also continues to cover the war in his interviews. In April 2026, Dud recorded a conversation with Denis Kapustin, the commander of the “Russian Volunteer Corps,” who is fighting on Ukraine’s side. The conversation focused, in particular, on the Russian invasion, the RVC’s raids into Russian territory, and the fight against Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Dud had also been designated a “foreign agent” in Russia. In 2026, Russian authorities continued to put pressure on the journalist: the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation conducted a legal assessment of his interview with Kapustin, and subsequently, a new administrative report was filed against Dud for violating the rules governing the activities of a “foreign agent.”

Belarus designated Dud’s channel as “extremist” following the interview with Kolesnikova.
