Khamenei is in critical condition and unable to govern the country
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is unconscious and is being treated for a "serious" illness in the city of Qom, which has temporarily prevented him from carrying out his official duties.
This was reported by the Times of Israel.
According to a diplomatic note from U.S.-Israeli intelligence shared with allies in the Persian Gulf, Khamenei is in serious condition and unable to participate in the regime’s decision-making.
As noted by the media, this is the first time Khamenei’s whereabouts have been publicly disclosed since the start of the war. It was previously believed that he may have been wounded during the initial strikes on February 28.
The document also reports on preparations for the burial of his father and former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Qom after he was killed at the start of the armed conflict as a result of the initial strikes on Iran.
As a reminder, Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public for security reasons. Authorities assure that he is healthy and leading the country. Earlier reports had emerged of his injury during the U.S. and Israeli strikes.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has officially authorized direct negotiations with the Donald Trump administration.
