The Houthis launched an attack on an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni Houthi group Ansar Allah claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jizan on the morning of August 9.

According to Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria, the drones managed to strike the production facility directly. The movement described the attack as a response to Saudi drones entering the airspace of the Yemeni provinces of Sa’ada and Hajjah.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy confirmed that a fire broke out at the facility in Jizan on the morning of August 9. According to the ministry, the fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no casualties as a result of the incident. The Saudi side has not yet disclosed the official cause of the fire.
