Kiili and Kunnas to run for Estonia’s Center Party — ERR News
In Estonia, independent Riigikogu members Meelis Kiili and Leo Kunnas will run in the parliamentary elections in March 2027 on the Center Party list. This was reported by ERR News.
Cooperation without joining the party
Kiili said he would cooperate with the Center Party but would not join it. According to him, shared views on security and the development of society played an important role in this decision.
Kiili and Kunnas were jointly offered to support the Center Party on security issues. Kiili said that before making the final decision, he presented his own program and vision to the party leadership and held substantive discussions with it. He also said that he had received cooperation offers from other parties but did not conduct negotiations with them.

Defense issues
Kiili named uniting society around national defense as one of the main points of his program. In his view, defense encompasses not only the military sphere but also public security, the economy, and social ties.
The politician has not yet decided exactly where he will run. He did not rule out that he could head the Center Party list in Ida-Viru County, where he comes from and lives. Kiili also confirmed that he and Kunnas consulted closely and found much in common while working on the Riigikogu National Defense Committee, although they represented different parliamentary groups.
