Kim Jong-un congratulated Putin on his 74th birthday and wished Russia victory and glory

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his 74th birthday and wished him “victory and glory.”

“My dearest friend, Comrade Vladimir Putin, please accept my most heartfelt and warmest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of your momentous birthday,” the message reads.

In his telegram, Kim Jong-un noted that over the past 20 years, under Vladimir Putin’s “outstanding and skillful leadership,” Russia has strengthened its status as a state and has allegedly demonstrated to the world its position as a “powerful and prosperous country.”

According to the North Korean leader, the Russian president enjoys “great trust and support from the Russian people.”

Kim Jong-un also stated that Russia “will surely emerge victorious in this just and sacred war” and will defend “the country’s sovereignty, security interests, and territorial integrity.”

Separately, the North Korean leader mentioned the comprehensive strategic partnership with “brotherly” Russia and promised that it would “continue to expand.”

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Moscow and Pyongyang have significantly intensified their military cooperation.

According to South Korean military intelligence, North Korea has supplied the Russian army with more than 12 million artillery rounds and ballistic missiles.

In addition, according to this data, the DPRK has deployed approximately 13,000 troops to the Kursk region. Of these, it is reported that about 2,300 have been killed.

According to estimates by Bloomberg Economics, since 2022, the DPRK has earned $14.02 billion from military aid to Russia, including $849 million for the “export” of military personnel.

Cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang continues. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that North Korea plans to deploy a force of 30,000 to 50,000 military personnel on Russian territory.

Prior to this, Ukrainian intelligence reported on the DPRK’s plans to send a missile unit to the Voronezh region, consisting of six launchers and approximately 120 missiles.

Kyiv also stated that in 2026, North Korea transferred 40 short-range KN-23 and KN-24 ballistic missiles to Russia.

In late July, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia was already using these missiles to strike Ukraine.

Thus, the military partnership between Russia and North Korea continues to deepen, and Pyongyang is providing Moscow with military support in the war against Ukraine.

A corresponding telegram was published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

On Wednesday, October 7, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is celebrating his 74th birthday. He has already received birthday wishes from a number of foreign leaders, including Belarus’s self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenko, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
