China’s military urges reporting corruption in Air Force procurement
China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has made a rare public appeal for reports of misconduct and corruption in Air Force procurement. This is the first time an investigation has been focused on a specific military branch, indicating increased scrutiny in this area.

The authorities are interested in violations related to bid evaluation procedures, contract execution, and intermediary selection. Employees, contractors, experts, and procurement agents are invited to submit information under their real names by June 30, 2026. Since 2023, the PLA has regularly issued warnings regarding breaches in defense contracts, and in September several specialists were suspended due to collusion within the Rocket Forces.
This move signals a tightening crackdown on corruption within China’s military sector, and further comprehensive investigations may enhance transparency in procurement processes.
