Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon has stated that the health of his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has recently deteriorated. She has been battling pulmonary fibrosis for several years and is currently on the waiting list for a transplant.
According to Hello, Mette-Marit uses oxygen support in her daily life. According to the Crown Prince, this helps somewhat, but the past few months have been difficult for the family.
“The Crown Princess is seriously ill, and I think her condition has deteriorated somewhat recently. That is why I am worried about her health,” Haakon said.
During one of her most recent public appearances, Mette-Marit appeared with a portable oxygen tank. The Crown Prince also confirmed that the decision regarding a possible lung transplant will be made by doctors.
“Unfortunately, I think she has gotten much worse recently,” he added.
Earlier, media reports also surfaced regarding the Crown Princess’s possible contacts with American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of sex crimes.
Earlier, the Norwegian Parliament decided to form an independent investigative commission to thoroughly investigate the contacts between representatives of the country’s political elite and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jeffrey Epstein.
