The Romanian Ministry of Defense has signed a contract to supply drones as part of the European SAFE program. The drones, worth €30.7 million, will be used for surveillance and reconnaissance. The program aims to strengthen the defense capabilities of EU countries.
This was announced on Facebook by Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruce.
The ordered drones, which are expected to be delivered next year, will be used for surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
"The Ministry of National Defense has just signed a contract with Quantum Systems for the supply of the 'Class I Mini UAS System' under the terms approved by Parliament as part of the SAFE program," Miruce announced in a Facebook post on Thursday.
The contract is worth 30.7 million euros and includes the delivery of 34 Vector reconnaissance drones and 15 Scorpion multicopters from the German company Quantum Systems.
