Iran has expressed solidarity with Oman following statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz and the possible use of force. This was announced by Esmail Baghai, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Reuters, Tehran also condemned the U.S. strikes on areas in Bandar Abbas.

Earlier, Donald Trump stated that “no one is going to control the strait,” referring to the Strait of Hormuz as international waters.

“Oman will behave just like everyone else, or we’ll have to blow them up,” Trump said.

Following these statements, Iran expressed support for Oman and criticized the “threats from American officials.”

Amid the escalating situation, oil prices had previously jumped by about 3% following Iran’s attack on a U.S. military base.

Iran and the U.S. exchangedaccusations following the new strikes.

The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress in negotiations with Tehran, noting that as part of a potential agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.

Iran’s Supreme Leader has bannedthe transfer of enriched uranium.
