China's top airlines offer refunds if ticket prices drop within 24 hours
Three major state-owned Chinese airlines — Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines — have introduced a new passenger protection measure. Now, customers can get a full refund without fees if they find a lower price for the same route within 24 hours after purchase.

This initiative also allows passengers to report price inflation or route changes by third-party sales platforms and receive compensation for the price difference. The move addresses unfair ticket-selling practices that account for more than 70% of online airline sales in China.
Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines are the largest airlines in China with long-standing histories. They operate extensive national and international flight networks and play a key role in the domestic and global aviation markets.
This policy change represents a significant improvement in customer service and airline price regulation, potentially boosting direct sales through official airline apps and loyalty programs.
Looking ahead, this innovation may set a precedent for other airlines worldwide to combat opaque pricing and enhance customer service standards.
