Lavrov made a new statement regarding the strikes on Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the drone attacks on Moscow and stated that the Russian military will continue to launch massive strikes against Ukraine. According to him, such attacks will allegedly take place on a regular basis. At the same time, Lavrov stated that the targets are facilities on which the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces depends.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov responded to the recent drone attacks in Moscow and stated that Russian troops will continue to launch massive strikes against Ukraine on a regular basis. He made this statement during a conversation with journalists. His remarks were reported by Russian state media.

According to Lavrov, the decision to carry out such attacks had previously been announced by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. “It is no coincidence that the president announced some time ago, following yet another stunt by the Kyiv terrorist, that we will now carry out massive, coordinated strikes on a regular basis,” Lavrov said.

He also claims that the strikes are allegedly aimed at targets on which the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces directly depends. “This task was set by the supreme commander-in-chief; our armed forces are carrying it out and will continue to do so,” said the Russian foreign minister.

However, Lavrov did not explain how the current tactics differ from the Russian army’s actions during previous years of full-scale war. Russia has been regularly launching missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian territory since the start of the invasion in February 2022. As a result of these attacks, residential buildings, energy infrastructure facilities, and civilian structures have repeatedly sustained damage.

Recently, drone attacks have also become more frequent on Russian territory, particularly in Moscow and the Moscow region. Russian authorities attribute these attacks to Ukraine. Against this backdrop, statements about intensifying retaliatory strikes are being made more and more often in Moscow. At the same time, officials in Kyiv have repeatedly emphasized that Russia continues to carry out daily attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.

Lavrov’s statement was yet another public reaction by the Russian authorities to drone strikes on Russian territory and indicates the Kremlin’s intention to continue using the tactic of massive attacks in the war against Ukraine.

A court in the city of Termez, Uzbekistan, sentenced a 30-year-old Uzbek citizen for participating in Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. The man, who deserted from the Russian military and returned to his homeland, was found guilty of mercenary activity

Additionally, a court in the Tashkent region sentenced a 38-year-old Uzbek citizen who fought as part of the so-called “DNR army” to five years in prison.

In Serbia, a court found 31-year-old Vlado Stanic guilty of mercenary activity. He participated in the war in Ukraine on the side of Russia.
