Lithuania plans to join an international mission to ensure safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently being organized.

After reviewing proposals from the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense regarding the country’s contribution to the future mission in the Strait of Hormuz, the State Defense Council approved Lithuania’s participation in it.
According to the decision, up to 40 military personnel and civilian experts may be deployed from Lithuania.
In addition, Lithuania may provide logistical support and allow the use of its military infrastructure.
