Lithuania summoned a Belarusian representative over an airspace violation
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a representative of Belarus and handed him a note of protest regarding the violation of the country’s state border and airspace.
According to monitoring data, an unmanned aerial vehicle was detected entering from the Belarusian side on the night of September 14–15. The Lithuanian side considers this a gross violation of international law and demands that Belarus provide a detailed explanation, prevent similar incidents in the future, and ensure effective control over its territory.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Lithuania reserves the right, together with its allies, to take all necessary measures to protect its national security and territorial integrity.
