Lebanon and Syria participated for the first time in a military conference organized by the U.S. and its allies
Representatives of the Lebanese and Syrian military commands participated for the first time in a meeting held as part of the “Regional Dialogue on Strategic Partnership,” organized by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in collaboration with regional allies.
The conference took place in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the internationally recognized government of Yemen also participated.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran regarding the implementation of a memorandum of understanding, which is of critical importance to the region’s security and economic stability.
CENTCOM stated that the participants reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring freedom of navigation and trade through the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the world’s key energy transport routes.
