Los Angeles declares Sept. 1–8 BTS Week
Los Angeles has officially declared the period from Sept. 1 to 8 BTS Week in honor of the South Korean group's return to the city for four sold-out concerts as part of its “Arirang” world tour. This was reported by the Korea Herald.
BTS will perform at SoFi Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as Saturday and Sunday. These will be the group's first concerts at the venue in nearly five years. The Los Angeles performances will conclude the North American leg of the group's current world tour.
City Hall illumination
On Tuesday, Los Angeles City Hall will be illuminated in red, a key color for BTS's fifth LP, “Arirang.” The official BTS Week proclamation ceremony took place on Monday at Los Angeles City Hall with representatives of the City Council, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, and Big Hit Music in attendance.

Recognition of cultural impact
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the decision recognizes BTS's cultural impact and the role of art and culture in bringing communities closer together. According to her, the proclamation of BTS Week reflects the city's belief in the ability of art and culture to foster mutual understanding and unite communities.
City Council member John Lee noted that the proclamation is also linked to Los Angeles' longstanding ties with Korea and the Korean American community. In the resolution, the City Council called BTS one of the most influential artists of this generation since the group's debut in 2013. The document also recognizes the group's contribution to expanding opportunities for Korean and Asian artists in the global music industry, the “Love Myself” campaign with UNICEF, and BTS's appearances at the UN.
BTS last performed at SoFi Stadium in late 2021 as part of the “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour. All four upcoming shows in Los Angeles have already sold out.
