Lumer urged people not to thank Russia for the American's release
American blogger Laura Lumer criticized calls to thank Russia for the release of U.S. citizen Robert Gilman, who spent more than four years in a Russian prison.
Commenting on a photo of the man after his release, Lumer stated that he looks exhausted and, according to her, had been tortured.
“He is exhausted and has been tortured. Why should we ‘thank Russia’?” the blogger wrote.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Gilman was returning to the United States. According to him, the release was the result of efforts by the Donald Trump administration to bring American citizens home.
