Macron stated that the attack in Leipzig is an example of Russia's hybrid warfare
French President Emmanuel Macron called the attack in Leipzig—for which Germany has blamed Russia—yet another manifestation of Moscow’s hybrid war against Europe. He emphasized that such actions pose a threat to European countries.
“It is quite clear that we once again have a documented case of interference—the very same hybrid war that Russia is waging against us,” Macron said.
The French president recalled that Germany had the day before held Russia responsible for the attack in Leipzig, which occurred several weeks ago. He expressed support for Berlin and solidarity with European partners.
“I would like to once again express our full support for Germany and the work it is doing, and, of course, our solidarity with all our European colleagues,” the French leader stated.
For his part, Jetten also mentioned the drone incident in Leipzig and the intelligence agencies’ claims of Russian interference. According to him, this incident fits “a trend currently being observed by European countries.”
“Today, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our German partners and will act together against such acts,” the Dutch prime minister emphasized.
According to Ukrinform, he made these remarks during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in Eindhoven.
Macron will travel to London for a meeting with Bernam.
The first joint military exercises of the “Coalition of the Willing” countries will be held in October and November 2026.
The Russian Foreign Ministry threatened Britain with strikes on military facilities.
