Medvedev is personally editing a new social studies textbook for Russian schools
In Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Federation’s Security Council, has been enlisted to help develop a new social studies textbook.
The Russian official is personally making edits to the future textbook.
According to Medinsky, the social studies curriculum in Russian schools has already been shortened from six to three years. The new curriculum is reportedly focused on practical skills, although key topics in law and economics are expected to be retained.
According to the reform’s authors, the old wording and assignments in previous textbooks were too difficult for students to understand.
The chairman of the Russian Military-Historical Society separately noted the role of the former Russian president in this process. It is reported that the reform of the school curriculum is proceeding gradually and cautiously.
