The mayor of Wrocław condemned the attacks motivated by ethnic prejudice
Wrocław Mayor Jacek Sutryk stated that the city will not tolerate violence motivated by hate, xenophobia, or national prejudice. His statement came after reports of brutal attacks in Wrocław, including an attack on a young Ukrainian couple, which, according to available information, may have been linked to their accent.
“It is with great concern and outrage that I received the news of the brutal attacks in Wrocław, motivated by ethnic prejudice,” Sutryk wrote. He did not name a specific incident or specify exactly which victims were involved.
According to the mayor, every person, regardless of language, origin, or religion, has the right to feel safe in Wrocław. He emphasized that an attack on a person because of their background is an attack on the entire city community, and such incidents must prompt a decisive response.

Sutryk expressed his support for the victims and their loved ones and his hope that the perpetrators will be quickly apprehended and brought to justice. He also urged Wrocław residents to respond to incidents of violence, hate speech, and discrimination, to report them to the appropriate authorities, and, if possible, to safely document the incidents and submit the evidence to the police.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław called on Polish law enforcement to respond promptly to the incident in which Ukrainians were harmed. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga instructed the consulate to urgently take the necessary measures in response, according to “European Truth.”
