The Danish Ministry of Defense has officially confirmed for the first time that the Danish military attempted to shoot down unidentified drones that appeared over the country’s military facilities last fall.
This was reported by the Danish broadcaster DR, which reviewed military documents.
According to the report, a series of reports regarding the appearance of drones over Danish military facilities were recorded in late September. In response, the military deployed frigates, infantry fighting vehicles, fighter jets, and personnel to support the police and secure strategic facilities.
The documents indicate that in some cases, attempts were made to shoot down the drones, although earlier official reports stated that no drones had been destroyed.
At the same time, some of the recorded incidents, as it turned out, were not related to drones—initially, all such reports were classified as “drone incidents” even without confirmation.
Following these events, the Danish military prepared training materials to improve soldiers’ training in detecting drones and procedures for reporting such threats.
