The Polish Foreign Ministry has rejected Putin's statements regarding the division of Ukraine
On July 27, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly rejected statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding alleged plans to divide Ukraine’s territory and Poland’s possible involvement in this. Warsaw called these claims false, baseless, and part of Russian disinformation.
The Polish Foreign Ministry emphasized that it categorically rejects the Russian leader’s “yet another round of false and completely baseless speculation” regarding the alleged imperial ambitions of Ukraine’s neighbors and the territorial division of the country.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that such statements are an attempt to sow discord and tension between Ukraine and its allies who support Kyiv.
“Poland has not made, does not make, and does not intend to make any territorial claims against Ukraine in the future,” the ministry emphasized.
The statement also underscores that Warsaw fully recognizes, respects, and consistently supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, as defined, in particular, by the 2003 Treaty between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the State Border.
In addition, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the spread of such narratives is part of Russia’s information war. According to diplomats, the goal of such statements is to sow discord among European nations and divert the international community’s attention from Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
The ministry also called on the Russian authorities to stop making territorial claims against their neighbors.

As a reminder, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated on July 26 that Ukraine would not be able to join the European Union with symbols that, in his opinion, contradict the historical memory of some European countries.
Polish police stated that the attack on Ukrainians in Wrocław may have been ethnically motivated.
