Two Belarusian women were arrested in Crete after causing a disturbance on board an airplane
On June 24, on the Greek island of Crete, law enforcement officers detained two Belarusian citizens following an incident aboard a flight from Warsaw to Chania. According to police, the passengers were arrested for disturbing the peace and assaulting a police officer after the plane landed.
The two women, aged 45 and 47, began shouting and smoking on board the plane—which is strictly prohibited—and refused to cooperate with the crew.
When the plane landed at Chania International Airport in Crete, they were detained, and one of them kicked a police officer who was handcuffing her, causing him to suffer a broken leg.
The police officer was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to Ekathimerini.
