It took 140 hours to make Peter Phillips's wedding dress
Harriet, the new wife of Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, has shared new photos from the wedding, and the designer of her dress, Emilia Wickstead, has revealed special details about the design.
The wedding ceremony took place in a formal setting and was attended by a large number of members of the British royal family.
The new photos showcase the bride’s elegant look during the outdoor celebration.
Harriet Spelling shared two new photos in which she poses outdoors for Mark Nicholson. For the important occasion, she chose a dress by Emilia Wickstead—the brand that works with Kate Middleton.
The formal gown featured a high square neckline, long lace sleeves, and a wide veil.
She accessorized the look with matching white Jimmy Choo heels. Her wedding ensemble was completed by a vintage tiara with diamonds and pearls, on loan from the Pragnell jewelry house.
Renowned designer Emilia Wickstead revealed that she worked on the dress “from the initial sketch to the final creation.”
The entire complex process of creating the dress took place in her private atelier in West London. In total, the painstaking creation of this unique bridal gown took 140 hours of work.
“The design is permeated by a deliberate dialogue between tradition and modernity. Each element is based on Emilia Wickstead’s signature silhouette and crafted from ivory-colored Italian crepe, overlaid with exceptionally fine French Leavers lace featuring a prairie flower motif across the entire surface, which extends to the edge of Harriet’s veil. The lace is meticulously applied by hand across the entire surface,” Wickstead noted.
The wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling took place on June 6 at All Saints Church in Kembley. This is the second marriage for both of them. Phillips was married to Canadian actress Autumn Kelly from 2008 to 2021.
The couple decided to separate back in 2019. They had two children together—Savannah and Ayla. Phillips subsequently dated Lindsay Wallace for three years before they split in April 2024. Harriet is raising her daughter Georgina on her own.
The ceremony attracted the attention of many high-ranking members of the royal family.
Among the guests were: Philip’s sister Zara with her husband Michael and daughters Mia and Lena, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their son James, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and their husbands Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as Princess Anne with her husband Timothy Laurence and the groom’s father, Mark Phillips.
