Three cars set ablaze near Palestinian-American’s home in West Bank — Anadolu Agency

In Palestine, in the village of Abu Falah in the occupied West Bank, armed Israeli occupiers attacked the home of a Palestinian who also holds US citizenship and set fire to three vehicles. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing the homeowner, Mustafa Zaatar.

Nighttime attack

According to Zaatar, dozens of armed Israeli occupiers entered Abu Falah, located east of Ramallah, at around 1:30 a.m. They surrounded his home, damaged property, and then set the vehicles on fire.

The man said he monitored the events through surveillance cameras installed around the house. About 10 minutes later, he said, he saw the vehicles engulfed in flames.

Zaatar also said that village residents later confronted the attackers and extinguished the fire. At the same time, he said, residents feared that they could be fired upon.

Appeal to the US Consulate

Zaatar said that two Palestinians were killed in the same area last year during an attack by Israeli occupiers. He also said that US citizenship had not provided him with protection.

The man's relatives in the United States contacted the US Consulate, which then got in touch with Zaatar. He asked consular officials to visit his home to assess the damage and the threats he faces.

In August, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called Israeli occupier violence against Palestinians in the West Bank terrorism and said it harms Israel's image.

According to official Palestinian data, since the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, at least 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, have been killed as a result of attacks by Israeli military forces and occupiers in the West Bank. About 13,350 people were injured, and more than 24,600 were arrested.
