Nigel Farage plans meeting with Marine Le Pen in France — POLITICO Europe
Nigel Farage, leader of the British right-wing populist Reform UK party, plans to visit France by the end of October to meet Marine Le Pen, president of the French far-right National Rally. POLITICO Europe reports, citing an anonymous Reform UK representative.
A return visit
Farage’s trip is expected to be a return visit after he invited National Rally leader Jordan Bardella to the Reform UK conference in Birmingham. On Friday, Farage and Bardella appeared together on stage and signed an agreement to deport to France all migrants who illegally crossed the English Channel. The details of this arrangement have not yet been determined.
The National Rally conference is scheduled for October 24–25 in Orléans, near Paris. A Reform UK representative did not confirm whether Farage would attend that particular event. According to the representative, Farage is also planning a number of other visits to leaders of European right-wing forces by the end of 2026.

Links between the politicians
Farage has known Le Pen for a long time: in 2017, he interviewed her for his radio show. At the same time, in 2024, Farage said that the National Rally’s economic policy would be a “catastrophe” for France and would be even worse for the economy than the policies of the government at the time.
According to the outlet, the parties have grown closer because of their hardline stance on immigration. After Bardella’s speech in English, Farage said from the stage that he believed he would be invited to Paris, where he would have to speak French.
