In Ghana, two Big Chef 5 contestants may leave the show after the Jollof Challenge
In Ghana, 12 contestants in the fifth season of the Big Chef culinary competition will cook jollof rice this Sunday as part of the Jollof Challenge. Following the challenge, two young chefs are expected to leave the show — this will be the first elimination of the current season, MyJoyOnline reports.
The jollof rice challenge
After three weeks of competitive tasks, the contestants will return to the Big Chef kitchen. The taste, colour, texture and presentation of the dish could prove decisive.
Jollof rice is a popular home-cooked dish in Ghana, but the contestants will need not only to prepare a familiar meal, but also to present it in a way that impresses the judges. The chefs will work within a limited time, manage ingredients and add their own creative solutions to the dish.

All 12 contestants will try to retain their place in the competition and compete for the title of Star Chef of the Day.
Results of the previous week
Last week, the contestants took part in the Ampesi Challenge. Michael called his dish Double Trouble and gave it nine out of ten when the contestants were asked to taste and assess their own creations. However, he found himself among the bottom two contestants for the second time.
Yayra was in the bottom two with him — already for the third time this season. Meanwhile, Akosua earned her first Star Chef of the Day title: the judges were impressed by her dish, Fante Deliciousness. A new episode of Big Chef Season Five will air on Sunday at 16:00 on Joy Prime.
