Germany promises a joint response from NATO and the EU following the drone incident in Romania

Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that Moscow would not be able to intimidate the West, commenting on the strike—presumably by a Russian drone—on a residential building in Galați.

Bild reports this.

He emphasized that NATO and the European Union are preparing a response to Moscow’s “reckless” actions.

“We will not be intimidated or divided. We will give a joint response to these actions by Russia. All our solidarity goes to our NATO ally and EU partner, Romania,” Wadephul said during a visit to the UN in New York.

According to him, this incident demonstrates that Russia’s reckless actions pose a threat to the security of citizens across Europe.

“Vigilance is the price of freedom. This old NATO motto takes on new meaning today,” said Wadephul, emphasizing that European countries will continue to support Ukraine and strengthen their own defense capabilities.
