Germany is speeding up the deportation of Afghan criminals
Germany has agreed to expedite the deportation of Afghan citizens who have committed serious crimes. In the future, the plan is to operate up to three charter flights per month to return such individuals to their home country.
In addition, individual deportations via scheduled flights will still be possible.
According to German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, at least 100 Afghans subject to deportation are currently in prisons or temporary detention centers.
“Anyone who abuses our protection and commits serious crimes here must seek their future in their home country,” Dobrindt stated.
Germany recently deported 32 people to Afghanistan who had been convicted of serious crimes, including rape, murder, child sexual abuse, drug trafficking, and extortion.
