Negotiations between the U.S. and Iran caused disruptions at Zurich Airport

Operations at Zurich Airport were disrupted due to a technical glitch in the air traffic control system related to security measures during the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran in Switzerland.

According to the air traffic control service Skyguide, the problem arose after a restricted-access zone was urgently added to the radar system over the Bürgenstock resort, where the talks are taking place.

As a result of the disruption, 12 incoming flights and 14 outgoing flights were canceled by noon, and at least 60 other flights were delayed.

Skyguide stated that system operations have now been fully restored and that flight safety remained under control at all times.
