NPP in Ghana to hold candidate balloting on September 9
In Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold a candidate balloting on September 9, 2026, to determine their positions on ballots for the election of national officers. According to MyJoyOnline, the event will take place at the party's headquarters in the Asylum Down area of Accra.
47 aspirants cleared for the election
The NPP National Officers Election Committee said that all 47 aspirants who appeared before the vetting committee had been cleared to participate in the election. The committee assessed their documents and compliance with the eligibility criteria.
The balloting will determine the candidates' placement on the ballots ahead of the party's national officers election. Aspirants must take part in the procedure in person or through duly authorized representatives.

Nine categories of positions
The candidates will compete in nine categories: national chairman, national vice chairman, general secretary, national treasurer, national organizer, national youth organizer, national women's organizer, Nasara (Zongo) organizer, and national communications director.
The committee also said that it would separately notify the aspirants of the balloting time for each category of positions.
