The UAE has been secretly carrying out strikes against Iran — WSJ

The Wall Street Journal reported that the United Arab Emirates has been carrying out covert strikes on Iranian territory.

According to the newspaper, one such strike in early April targeted an oil refinery on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf. According to the publication’s sources, the attack occurred at a time when the U.S. had already announced a ceasefire, but the agreement with Iran had not yet taken effect.

The strike caused a massive fire at the facility, resulting in significant damage. Iran reportedly responded by launching drones and missiles at targets in the UAE and Kuwait.

Officially, UAE authorities have not confirmed involvement in these attacks. At the same time, Reuters notes that it was unable to independently verify the information published by the WSJ.

The UAE repelled a new attack by Iranian drones.

Britain has called on Iran to fully open the Strait of Hormuz and restore international shipping, which has been operating intermittently since the situation escalated.

Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not consider the war with Iran to be over.

Official Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.

Iran rejected Trump’s claims regarding the transfer of uranium to the U.S. and accused him of manipulation.
