British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to step down.
According to sources, Cooper conveyed her position to the head of government during a private conversation over the weekend. She is one of the most influential members of Starmer’s government.
The British prime minister is currently staying with his family at the Chequers country residence.
Earlier, Business and Trade Minister Peter Kyle said he had a “frank conversation” with Starmer about the challenges facing the government.
On May 13, 2025, police arrested 21-year-old Ukrainian Roman Lavrynovych, and on May 17, they arrested another suspect, a 26-year-old man. They are currently in custody. The Ukrainian man has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. He has appeared in court.
