Former Polish Deputy Minister of Justice, Who Is Wanted by Authorities, May Be in Tiraspol, According to RMF
Marcin Romanowski, the former Deputy Minister of Justice of Poland, who is wanted by Polish law enforcement authorities, is currently in Tiraspol—the capital of the unrecognized region of Transnistria.
According to RMF FM, it was from Tiraspol that Romanowski sent correspondence to the District Court in Warsaw.
The politician from the Law and Justice party asked the court to issue a so-called “letter of protection,” which is intended to guarantee his personal safety.
The document was filed with the district court last week. It was personally signed by Romanowski, and the address listed in it is located in Tiraspol.
In the document, Romanowski pledges to appear in person before the judicial authorities if he is allowed to remain at liberty.
The former official is a defendant in a case related to the “Justice Fund,” in connection with which he is being prosecuted by Polish law enforcement agencies.
Transnistria remains an entity unrecognized by the international community and supported by Russia. Reports of Romanovsky’s presence there are currently based on unofficial sources and information from RMF FM.

Earlier, Poland submitted an official extradition request to the United States for former Minister of Justice and former Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro, who is currently in the United States.
