A Crimean occupation court sentenced a 45-year-old resident of Feodosia to 16 years in prison for treason
The occupying “Supreme Court of Crimea” sentenced a 45-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied city of Feodosia to 16 years in a strict-regime penal colony on charges of alleged treason. The Russian side claims that the man passed photographs of a Russian military helicopter to Ukrainian intelligence services.
According to the Russian investigation, in September 2024, the Feodosia resident allegedly, on his own initiative, gathered information about the movements of a reconnaissance and attack helicopter, photographed it, and sent the images via a chatbot which, according to the occupying authorities, is used by the Security Service of Ukraine.
In March of this year, the FSB reported the man’s detention. The Russian security service stated that he allegedly passed photographs of military equipment to the Ukrainian side, equipment that was involved in patrolling airspace and providing cover for fuel facilities.
The FSB also claims that this material was allegedly used by the Ukrainian military to adjust artillery, missile, and bomb strikes on Russian troop positions.
There is no independent confirmation of these claims. Russian authorities regularly open criminal cases against residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea on charges of “treason,” “espionage,” or “collaboration” with Ukrainian intelligence agencies.
This is reported by Russian media, citing the Crimean occupation prosecutor’s office.
As a reminder, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow upheld a lawsuit filed by the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and recognized Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) as “accomplices of Nazi Germany” in crimes against Soviet citizens during World War II.
In Moscow, FSB officers detained Igor Moiseenko, deputy general director for corporate security at Gazprom Energoholding. He is suspected of accepting a bribe of approximately $630,000.
