2026 Happiness Ranking Revealed: CIS Countries and Ukraine’s Positions

The 2026 Happiness Ranking has been published, evaluating life satisfaction levels across various countries worldwide. Kazakhstan ranked 33rd, Ukraine placed 111th, with Finland taking the top spot. This ranking provides important insights into the socio-economic conditions and well-being of populations globally.

Finland leads the ranking, followed by Ireland, Denmark, Costa Rica, and Sweden in the top five. Among CIS countries, Kazakhstan is 33rd, Uzbekistan 53rd, Kyrgyzstan 66th, Moldova 77th, Russia 79th, Tajikistan 86th, Armenia 89th, Georgia 91st, Azerbaijan 102nd, with Ukraine ranked 111th overall.

The lowest ranks are held by Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Sierra Leone, with Afghanistan at the very bottom of the list. The report assesses happiness based on seven key factors: GDP per capita, social support, life expectancy and health, freedom of choice, generosity, corruption levels, and income redistribution dynamics.

The World Happiness Report is an annual study offering a comprehensive analysis of factors influencing subjective well-being globally. Its findings are often used to guide social and economic policy making.

This data underscores that happiness levels do not always align directly with economic indicators, highlighting the importance of social support and anti-corruption measures. Future reports may reveal shifts in wellbeing influenced by global challenges and domestic reforms.
