Orbán said that the EU could cease to exist in 25 years without reforms
During a keynote speech at the Tushvanosh summer camp in Romania, Viktor Orbán stated that he does not foresee the European Union existing 25 years from now unless it undergoes reform.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, citing European Pravda and MTI, Orbán responded negatively when asked about the future of the EU. He argued that, in his view, the European Union in its current state is not viable.
Orbán also said that the EU, like other international organizations, could disappear or undergo radical changes if it fails to modernize in the coming years.

“Those who are unable to adapt will disappear. And the European Union, in my view, is currently unable to adapt. I don’t want it to disappear. I want it to be able to adapt, for Hungary to play its part in this, for us to benefit from this adaptation, and for us to emerge as winners. But to be honest about today’s European Union, it seems incapable of self-reform. “That is why I do not foresee a great future for it,” Orbán stated.
He also spoke out against the position of President of the European Commission, stating that it should be abolished. According to Orbán, the EU needs to be reformed and the power of the European Commission—which he called unlimited—needs to be curtailed. He linked these changes to the possibility of the “Patriots for Europe” group gaining full power in Brussels.
According to Orbán, the EU’s problems began in 2015, when, under the leadership of Jean-Claude Juncker, the European Commission, in his view, transformed from a body for legal coordination and a guarantor of treaty compliance into a political body.
