Britain to Transfer Rights to Ukraine for the Latest Stone Cloak Electronic Warfare System — The Independent

On July 27, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom will announce the transfer to Ukraine of the intellectual property rights to the advanced Stone Cloak electronic warfare system. The announcement is expected to be made during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to London.

The official announcement will take place during a meeting between the British Prime Minister and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at one of the British naval bases. The transfer of patent rights and technological developments will enable Ukraine to establish its own large-scale production of these systems.

Commenting on this decision, Andy Burnham stated: “The United Kingdom stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine, and our support remains unwavering. Russia should have no doubt about our resolve, and we will not back down until a lasting and just peace is achieved for Ukraine.”

He also emphasized: “Stone Cloak is a prime example of British innovation, proven on the front lines, and this technology will be vital to safeguarding the security of both our countries.”

Stone Cloak is a compact electronic warfare module, roughly the size of a tablet. The device is mounted directly onto unmanned aerial vehicles.

The technology’s main purpose is to block or significantly hinder the detection of Ukrainian drones by Russian electronic warfare and radar systems, creating a kind of “electronic cloak” for the UAVs. The exact technical specifications and detailed operational algorithms of the system remain classified.

Officials in London note that once production is ramped up in Ukraine, Stone Cloak technology will also be integrated into the new generation of British long-range weapons. In particular, it is planned to be used as part of the Brakestop project—a program to develop an affordable cruise missile with a range of at least 600 kilometers and a warhead weighing 200–300 kilograms.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and Bernam will take place at a British naval base. The leaders will also speak with more than 200 Ukrainian service members who have participated in the Sea Breeze exercises in the United Kingdom over the past three weeks.

It should be noted that the UK anticipates a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO in the coming months.

As a reminder, during a face-to-face meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed suspending hostilities in Ukraine and returning to the negotiation process based on the 2022 Istanbul agreements.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not considering the possibility of returning some of the occupied territories to Ukraine as part of a potential peace agreement to end the war.
