The Georgian Parliament has introduced visas for digital nomads
On April 16, the Georgian Parliament passed a bill in its third and final reading to introduce visas for “digital nomads”—high-income foreigners who work remotely for foreign companies.
This was reported by Russian media.
The new C5 visa category will be valid for up to 5 years and allow a stay in the country of up to 1 year. Family members of the applicant will also be eligible to receive it. The cost of the visa will range from $20 to $500.
Decisions on visa issuance will be made on an expedited basis, though grounds for refusal are also provided, including “state immigration policy.” The start date for visa issuance has not yet been determined.
Georgia has extended visa-free travel for Ukrainians for another year.
On January 5, the Georgian government transferred nine industrial generators of various capacities to Ukraine for regions affected by Russian aggression.
